We regret to inform you that reports of the death of avocado toast have been greatly exaggerated. A new "avocado bar" opening in Industry City threatens our Instagram feeds with avocado everything, which, by the look of their Instagram, promises to be an onslaught of alligator pear-topped bread the likes of which the city has never seen.

"They're tasty and healthy, and I ate them every day," Avocaderia owner Francesco Brachetti told the Times of his beloved fruit. "We didn't have them in Italy."

Brachetti, along with two other pals from Italy, will serve "Toasts, Salads, Bowls and Smoothies," all made from avocado or featuring avocado in some kind of starring role. "Avocados make just about anything better, from salads to veggie-packed salsas to smoothies," the website declares. "We have developed tasty recipes just for you: we smear 'em onto toast, mash 'em into guacamole, or top your morning eggs with a couple slices."

Those closely following the avocado crisis might be rightfully concerned about yet another venture that could further decimate the world's supply. But the trio claim they source their avocados from "a consortium of local farmers" in Mexico who treat both their workers and the environment with respect.
