The seasonal pop-up market known as Broadway Bites returns to Greeley Square this summer, bringing an artisanal touch to the frenetic and chain-heavy area around Herald Square. Urban Space, the same company that organizes the goodies at Mad. Sq. Eats, curates the selection for this occupation, which includes quite a few favorites of the mobile vending and brick-and-mortar food operations in the city.
It's a great place to score Roberta's without traveling to Bushwick and facing an inevitable two hour wait, especially since they're making the pizzas in a proper wood burning oven. Other notables include Red Hook Lobster Pound and their hefty rolls; hearty slow braised sandwiches from Mayhem and Stout; cheesy rice balls from Arancini Bros. and a heck of a lot more. They're also offering kombucha on tap for the health nuts and craft beer and wine for the rest of us sinners. They also claims to have the "best chocolate babka in the city (and perhaps the world)," which you'll have to judge for yourself.
The market kicks off for the season on June 3rd and will run seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through August 1st.
