Alas, it appears the people have far less discriminatory palates that Ye Mighty Reviewers: Guy Fieri was awarded a People's Choice prize for his Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese Burger at the New York City Wine and Food Festival's Blue Moon Burger Bash at Pier 92 last night. The People have spoken, and they like calories.

Fieri tied with Josh Capon of Lure Fishbar, whose meaty offerings have warranted the Burger Bash's popular vote in previous years. And Fieri, whose self-titled Time Square-situated American Kitchen & Bar has graced the world with buckets and buckets of Donkey Sauce, along with some other sugary culinary gifts, apparently makes one hell of a crowd-pleasing, artery-clogging burger; the Bacon Mac 'n' Cheese Heart Attack comes with "crispy applewood-smoked bacon, four-cheese mac and cheese, ground beef, cheese, garlic butter and toasted brioche.

A few other big burger winners included offerings from Spice Market and Commerce in the West Village and Le Rivage in Hell's Kitchen. And fear not, serious meat-eating enthusiasts: Shake Shack got applause for its SmokeShack burger, so all is right with the world.
