New Filipino spot f.o.b. in Carroll Gardens begins brunch this weekend, offering traditional silogs, a breakfast dish of meat, garlic rice and a fried egg. Combinations include Tosilog with marinated pork, Cornsilog with corned beef and Spamilog with Spam. Other egg dishes include Tortang Omelet, an omelet stuffed with charred Asian eggplant, and for sweets, the Halo Halo Waffle with fresh fruit, shredded coconut, red bean, jack fruit and ube ice cream.
The Queens International Night Market is closed for the season but it'll be popping up this Sunday at the Queens Museum for some last-minute holiday shopping. From 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., both levels of the Museum will be taken over by 70 vendors offering handcrafted goods from clothes to art to artisanal foods. Outside the museum, Wood-Fired Edibles and The Dumpling Spot will be cooking up brick oven pizza and Asian dumplings, respectively.

Yumi’s Homestyle Japanese Family Cooking Workshop offers an opportunity to learn how to prepare miso soup and seaweed salad in addition to some non-raw fish sushi and inside-out rolls. Attendees also get a bamboo rolling mat so they can recreate the rolls at home. Tickets $45.
