As summer fades into fall, there are few activities more appealing than hanging out in a lush community garden and eating just a crap ton of sandwiches. Like, sandwiches for days, know what I mean?

Scoot on by the Amazing Garden in the Columbia Waterfront District on Saturday for the 4th Annual Best Grilled Sandwich in Brooklyn competition, in which chefs from three local eateries—Henry Public, Vekslers, and Bar Bruno—compete for the honor of best grilled sandwich, both meat and vegetarian. You'll also stuff yourself with samples of grilled cheeses, all to the backdrop of live music, MC'd by WNYC's Amy Eddings.

Admission is $15, and proceeds will go to supporting the Amazing Garden, which is located at the corner of Carroll and Columbia streets. The event will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., and it's an incontrovertible fact that you can eat a terrifying number of sandwiches in three hours.
