After 15 years on Cleveland Place in SoHo, cozy French eatery Le Jardin Bistro closed its doors in 2010, only to reborn this month in the former Apt 13 space on Avenue C. Returning is former owner Israel Katz, who's partnered with Helios Hospitality Group to revive the classic bistro in its new home in Alphabet City. Also returning, the simple and reasonably-priced fare that endeared it to locals in the first place; plus, a garden (of sorts). The bi-level restaurant boasts both a first floor patio with a few tables in addition to a second floor enclosed "garden" that will stay open year-round.

All the French favorites are on the menu, like smaller plates of Soupe de Poisson ($10) with accompanying aioli and crouton; La Salade Frisée Aux Lardons ($10) with a poached egg; and Pâte de Campagne ($8) served with marinated figs. Larger entrees include a Steak Tartare ($16) with frites; Coq au Vin ($19) with braised vegetables; and Magret de Canard ($21), a grilled duck breast served with pink peppercorn sauce.
