Hot on the heels of the wildly successful new Smorgasburg Queens, the Brooklyn Flea team is embarking on yet another new adventure: delivery. A partnership with Seamless to bring market food right to your doorstep was revealed this morning by the Observer, which reports that this Saturday, a number of vendors from the Williamsburg and Long Island City markets will be available via Seamless from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It won't be the full complement from either market, but five Williamsburg vendors (Goa Taco, Chickpea and Olive, Good Stock, Imperial Egg and Antica Pesa) and four LIC vendors (Kim Chi Smoke, Patacon Pisao, Arepa Lady and Celebes Bakar Grill) will be on the docket, each offering one or two signature items from their stalls. In Brooklyn, delivery zones will be "most of Williamsburg and Greenpoint" and in Queens, "most of Astoria and Long Island City and part of Sunnyside."
It looks like delivery recipients will be able to order from multiple stalls during one order, so you could snag a Spaghetti Burger from Antica Pesa with a side of Jambalaya from Good Stock, making the experience not unlike visiting the market itself. It's not clear who will be doing the actual delivering or whether there'll be a fee involved, but we've reached out to Seamless for some clarification. Smorgasburg's Eric Demby confirmed the new partnership but didn't have any additional information to share at this time.
Update: A rep for Seamless sent us over the following map of the delivery zones—which are pretty big!
