Shack Shack will be ringing in the new year with a new IPO and now a new burger. The chain drops their latest burger innovation, the ShackMeister Burger, on New Year's Day at all their USA Shacks save for JFK. They're calling it the "first major burger addition" since the SmokeShack, which debuted in 2012.

This new menu item actually began life at the 2014 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Burger Bash, where it took home the Judge's Choice for best burger. The burger boats a "100% all-natural Angus beef cheeseburger topped with crispy marinated shallots and ShackSauce." A single runs for $6.19 while a double will set you back $8.99.

If this all looks a little familiar it's because the chain has been offering a very similar topping for its DogMeister hot dog, topped with those same fried shallots and a delicious American and Cheddar cheese sauce. Shake Shack may be known for its burgers, but insiders know to go straight to the dogs.
