Secret menus have a way of staying, well, secret, unless you have a knowledgeable guide to help highlight all the off-menu goodies available at NYC restaurants. On a food crawl next Saturday, October 11th, the secret subject will be burgers, as illustrated through four midtown eateries taking part in the Fall Burger Crawl. Meat purveyors Schweid & Sons—who've been hooking up restaurants with quality cuts since the late 1800s—have tapped TV food personality Chef Russell Jackson to lead some hungry culinary explorers on a quest to sample some underground burgers—and don't forget the beer.

The four stops on the tour include Draught 55, The Liberty NYC, Point Break and Tri-Tip Grill, who are all griddling up some fun burgers unknown to any pleb walking through the door. Of the samples, there's a blackened Bayou Burger topped with red onion jam, four pepper relish, provolone and slab bacon and another topped with Califon Tomme Cheese, bacon mayo, dijon mustard, pickles, green leaf and a handful of duck fat fries. With gut-busting toppings like that, it's lucky each bar is only serving up a half portion.

Regular tickets—which go for $45—include the four burger tastings, five Sixpoint beers, plus a ticket to the after party going down at Hudson Commons. VIP tickets ($69) include all that plus time spent with Chef Jackson, a ground beef demo with Schweid & Sons/Burger Conquest blogger Rev Ciancio and some other tasty perks.
