New details have emerged about DUMBO's soon-to-be-renovated Empire Stores, situated in some prime waterfront real estate in Brooklyn Bridge Park. While plans have included offices, gyms and retail, the Brooklyn Paper chatted with developer Midtown Equities for some new, more specific reveals. Turns out that chief among the proposed plans is a rooftop beer garden and restaurant (keep 'em comin'!).

Developer Jack Cayre isn't releasing names yet but says contracts have been drawn up and just need signatures before everything's set in stone. The term "brew palace" has been thrown around to describe the tenant, which could mean a big name in brewing or just lots and lots of beer. Also landing on the rooftop: an "elegant restaurant with a terrace," which joins a French brasserie moving in downstairs and smaller operations like coffee from La Colombe.

A yoga studio and a gym are a part of the other non-food tenants all but confirmed for the 430,000-square-foot building, which is slated to open late in 2015. There's still office space for lease in the glass-enclosed rooftop structure, which they'll build on top of the existing facade of the former coffee warehouse, plus space throughout the other sections of the building. Prospective tenants should consider the growing nightlife scene as another incentive to lease in the pricey property; it's going to be pretty wild.
