While the city's enormous Restaurant Week celebration rages, a more humble version unfolds along a stretch of East Williamsburg. The Grand Street Restaurant Week begins today, offering up dining deals on the street's diverse collection of mom-and-pop restaurants. Spanning Grand between Bushwick and Union Avenues, the mini-festival highlights a variety of ethnic cuisines on the portion of the street east of the BQE.
The 14 participating restaurants are all offering $25, three-course menus during dinnertime, with about half also offering $10 two-course lunches. On the docket are Indian delights from Curry Heaven, El Salvadorian fare from Bahia, Turkish specialties from Mahzen Grill and Thai treats from Lily Thai. Killer 24-hour eatery Tacos Morelos also makes the list, offering up choices like Molajete and Chile Relleno entrees plus two beers included with every meal during dinner.
