There's never an "off-season" for Rockaway residents, which is why it's great that some of the newer dining options have begun some kind of year-long operation to feed the local community. To that end, Rockaway Beach Surf Club has launched a weekend ramen service called Noodle Beach that'll keep the community warm and well-fed until it's time to get Tacoway Beach up and going again.
From noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays, Noodle Beach will offer up two different ramens; one made with a beef bone broth and another vegetarian option with a mushroom kombu broth. The Meat ($12) comes with chorizo meatballs, kimpira style carrots, tatsoi, scallions, and gomasio and the Veg ($10) with inari, mushrooms, tatsoi, scallions, nori, and homemade smoked jalapeno wasabi. A soft boiled egg can be added to either for $2. Get slurpin'!
There's also an on-site bar, with cocktails like a Bourbon Bloody Mary ($9) and Surf Club Margarita ($9) to chase away the winter's chill. On Sundays, the site will also host a farmer's market with goods from the likes of Meathook, Edgemere Farm and Concave Coffee.
