The four course meal includes herb roasted turkey, green beans almondine and pecan pie, plus four local wines and hot cider. The website states "To preserve the evening's holiday ambiance, guests are encouraged to dress in formal attire," so leave the football jerseys at home.
Thanksgiving is a rough time for vegetarians. Even if you avoid turkey, there's beef broth in gravy, usually some form of animal fat in the mashed potatoes, and that just leaves that weird cranberry sauce in the can. This year, Counter is offering an all vegetarian Thanksgiving feast, with spiced winter pumpkin soup, herb roasted seitan and black cocoa cake. Served from 12pm-9pm on Thanksgiving day, at $50 a head with an optional $25 wine pairing.105 First Avenue, 212-982-5870
