Today's fast food workers walkout in 100 cities is in full effect, especially in NYC. Workers gathered at midtown McDonald's locations, yelling, "We can't survive on $7.25!" referring to the minimum wage which leaves them poor.
AP reporter Candice Choi Tweeted, "'You wanted them out of the store, we got them out of the store' - cop to McD manager, who is asking them to clear crowd from entrance." She added, "Cops are here; protestors now filing out chanting 'We'll be back!'"

The workers are demanding that they be allowed to unionize and that their wages be raised to $15. Melissa Autilio Fleischut, the chief executive of the New York State Restaurant Association, has warned that if the wage went to $15, there would be more automation and a dollar meal would cost $1.25.
