Charming Greenpoint bakery Cookie Road has outgrown its tiny storefront on Franklin Street and opened a second, larger location nearby on Manhattan Avenue. All the tasty treats from the original location have made the move, including red velvet cupcakes, an assortment of macaroons and, of course, the whimsically decorated sugar cookies. Additionally, the new location offers an expanded menu of savory sandwiches for the lunch and dinner crowd, as well as a selection of beers and wines, perfect for a relaxing post-work drink.

Owners Aneta and Jerzy Sotz's background in art (they are both artists and designers) really shines in the new space. Not only are the cakes and cookies beautiful decorated, they've also adorned the walls with art pieces by a Polish artist friend and some of their own pieces as well. Unlike the old cafe, there are plenty of places to perch while you eat; lots small tables, benches and counters stools so you can linger over your pastry. There's no WiFi here—the Stozes are cultivating a restaurant atmosphere rather than coffee shop—so bring something to read while you sip your artfully frothed cappuccino.
