The denizens of Park Slope know that every hurricane survival kit is incomplete and downright DANGEROUS without raw pate "seed cheese," which is apparently why the Park Slope Food Co-Op was packed to the gills with responsible adults this morning. According to the grousing on Twitter, things have not improved, and there's currently a queue to even get in the door.
Behold what Mother Nature hath wrought. It's like the DMV, if the DMV were a Kafkaesque nightmare with 78% cacao chocolate bars.
It's 8:20am and the @foodcoop is already a shitshow. Is there something going on...?

Stocking up at @foodcoop. Thought I was smart getting here early. Thought wrong. In a wrap around line next to the mushrooms #HurricaneSandy

Insanity @foodcoop. Friend was told to go upstairs, get a number & wait in this room to be called down to shop #Sandy twitter.com/sarablask/stat…

Chaos in Park Slope. The @foodcoop is so crowded that they have had to close to shoppers for at least an hour. #Sandy

An employee of the Co-Op could not confirm the hour-long closure, and said that they would be open until their usual hour of 7:30 p.m. But by then all the Grana Padano will be long gone, man.
