When Otto Cedeno opened his East Village taco shop, we declared his creations something New Yorkers could be proud of. Almost a year later, the masa morsels have been touted as some of the best in the city by local food media and the fans who stop by for the freshly-pressed taco creations. Following this success, Cedano and Co. are opening up another Otto's Tacos, this time across the Island in the West Village at Seventh Avenue and West 10th Street.

Things won't change too much at the new spot, where they'll be pressing fresh tortillas just like the EV location. As of now, there will be five tacos on the menu—including beef, shrimp and mushroom—with specials popping up from time to time. Last night, Community Board 2 approved their beer license, so expect to sip on Lagunitas, Modelo Especial and other beers while you eat.

The space will boast many of the same elements as the original, like the cozy wooden paneling, plus the addition of a communal table and the possibility for outdoor seating. The eatery expects to open sometime this fall; hooray for more ways to get those addictive masa fries.
