Forget everything you ever knew or thought you knew or dared to imagine about authentic Korean food—you haven't really had authentic Korean food until you've had it in a luxury 39th floor penthouse far, far above all the other Korean food on Earth. Next month a new era in Korean opens up with Gaonnuri, the splashy new establishment that is, according to its own website, "the world's highest authentic Korean restaurant." This place looks spectacular, or as Facebook fan SaeHwan Lee put it, "정말 깔끔 하게 꾸며 놓아서 일하고 싶네여."

Gaonnuri, which translates to "center of the world," will serve a menu consisting of traditional "ban sang" set meals and Korean barbecue. According to Grub Street, the private lounge "has up-close Empire State Building views, and a private party room looks onto the Hudson." We'll let you know when it's closer to opening, but for now feast your eyes on the view of the July 4th fireworks.
