Australian import Pie Face has seen rapid expansion this year, opening up two Midtown West locations earlier this summer and now an outpost on 23rd street that opened up yesterday. There's also word that two more locations will be opening up in NYC sometime in the next few months—Aussie invasion!
The new Chelsea locale is the mini-chain's sixth NYC location and like its predecessors it'll dish out savory and sweet pies, rolls, pastries and sandwiches 24 hours a day. Their adorable signature pies have hearty fillings like Mince Beef, Thai Chicken Curry and a Tandoori Vegetable. The flaky rolls are wrapped around fillings of sausage topped with tomato sauce and veggie fillings of spinach and ricotta. They're also stacking up classic sandwiches from Egg Salad Wraps to Italian Ciabatta with layers of salami, pepperoni and Italian ham.
Their equally long dessert menu includes sweet pies like Apple Crumble, Pear & Ricotta and Pumpkin Pie, plus a full line of muffins, danish, cookies and cakes. The shop pays equal attention to their coffee blends, ranging in strength from Still Asleep! (decaf) to Kick My Arse! (strong hard blend), ideal for either settling down after a long night on the town or smacking your hangover in the face the next morning.
