No Bar, a new wave gay bar housed inside the Standard East Village, opened in the ground floor of the lively hotel on Wednesday night.

The bar is the brainchild of Angela Dimayuga, the Standard's Creative Director of Food and Culture. As Mission Chinese's former chef (she left in 2017), Dimayuga helped build out the restaurant's New York outpost, from the inventive menu offerings to the art within.

At No Bar, which is swathed in neon lights, cow-print covered booths, and a mirror installation designed by artist Dachi Cole, patrons can try cocktails like the "Devil's Nightcap" (whiskey, rum, jasmine rice syrup, togarashi, and lemon. $13). The food menu features elevated bar food like rock shrimp poppers ($14), nachos ($14, with the option of adding brisket for $5), and guacamole ($12).

No Bar will also host drag nights on Thursdays and Sundays, which were a mainstay at Narcbar, the watering hole that previously called the space home.
