Recently, Questlove posted a photo of a slice of watermelon with ice cream in it to his food-centric Instagram account, Questlovesfood, asking: How do I convince my pal Dominique Ansel, Willy Wonka himself, to bring his new Watermelon Soft Serve to NYC??" It seems that's all it took, because soon after Ansel announced he'd be temporarily serving the item, typically only available at his Tokyo store, to Dominique Ansel Kitchen in Manhattan.

The "What-a-Melon Soft Serve" debuted on Saturday, bringing long lines to the 7th Avenue outpost, where it will be served through Tuesday, July 4th.

Ansel explains that the item is "made with a slice of ripe watermelon with little chocolate 'seeds,' filled to order with watermelon soft serve."

Dominique Ansel Kitchen is located at 137 7th Ave S, and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., but the soft serve is only available from noon until it sells out.
