The last real meatpacking semblance may have just moved out of the Meatpacking District to make room for the models, but if you're worried all the food's gone, don't fret, because starting today, vendors will be flooding the 'hood at the new UrbanSpace Meatpacking market!
UrbanSpace, which also curates the Dekalb Market and the Union Square Holiday Market, will be bringing about 60 local culinary hotspots like Momofuku Milk Bar, Arancini Bros., Mexicue, Roberta's Pizza and Red Hook Lobster Pound to West 13th and Washington Streets where they'll be doling out goodies under the High Line daily starting at 11 a.m. There will also be a detox juice bar, Mixology Garden, and retailers like Humble Chic and NFP Studio will be selling products out of their own tents.
But the market was almost not-to-be—the DOB issued UrbanSpace a stop-work order last week for operating without a permit, and only green lit construction this Thursday.
