Breast is best, as the lactivists repeatedly tell everyone, but now one man is making sure new parents know about it: Father-of-two Mayor Bloomberg. The Post reports, "The Health Department is pushing a sweeping initiative to prod dozens of city hospitals to get more moms in their maternity wards to breast feed, The Post has learned. It’s called the 'Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative.'"
The Health Department's proposal said, "The benefits of breast feeding to infants, mothers and society are well established... Specifically, infants exclusively breast fed for at least six months have a 22 percent reduction in risk for childhood obesity." Hospitals can apply for the program that's sponsored by the World Health Organization, which says infants up to six months should exclusively breastfeed, after that, the babes can get supplementary foods. FWIW, Blossom recommends breastfeeding for a while. Anyway, this adds breast milk to Bloomberg's hit list: Salt, check. Sugar, check. Smoking, check.
And speaking of boob food, this ad of the Korean Oreos ad by Cheil Worldwide was disavowed by Kraft. A spokesperson told TMZ, "Kraft Foods did not create this ad. It has never run in Korea or any other markets. This ad was created by our agency for a one-time use at an advertising forum. The ad was never intended for public distribution or use with consumers." But it's so good!
