September 18 -- A Taste of the Village 37 Greenwich Village restaurants will be participating in this benefit for the Carmine Street Block Association and other charities. Tastings are $5 each or or $20 for five tastings, and can be purchased in advance at the Drougas Bookshop at 34 Carmine Street. Held on Carmine Street, between Bleecker and Bedford Streets from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
September 22 -- il Buco's Sagra di Maiale (Outdoor Pig Festival) Roast pork, Italian wine, and other Italian delicacies, served in celebration of the autumnal equinox. In front of il Buco Restaurant, 47 Bond Street between Bowery and Lafayette.
September 23 -- 9th Annual Harvest in the Square Celebration: This annual fundraiser, which benefits Union Square Park, features over 45 neighborhood restaurants, wines, and microbrews. September 26 -- Guinness Oyster Fest Our spies tell us that this festival will take place at the same spot in DUMBO as the (ill-fated) Chili Crab Festival. We certainly hope that they have learned from their mistakes and that the oysters are plentiful. If you don't want to take the chance, we suggest you buy some oysters and shuck them yourself, Gothamist Eating In style. Water Street at Dock and Main.
September 30 -- 4th Annual Joy of Sake Festival at the Puck Building (295 Lafayette Street). In addition to tasting 140 different sakes, you can pair them with sake appetizers from restaurants like wd-50, Toqueville, Bao 111, Bond Street, Geisha, Bouley and more.
