New York magazine gives its picks for good street eating (as well as best outdoor eating and outdoor bars) this summer. We want to check out the hot dog cart in Madison Square Park (which the Times' Alex Witchel did a feature on in the Dining section two weeks ago, basically a year+ after the initial excitement), but the idea of a pork bun from Chinatown's Sun Dou Dumpling Shop on Grand Street sounds just as good.
Another option near Washington Square Park, though not a street vendor but very street friendly, is the amazing cheese steak sandwich at BB's Sandwich Bar on West 3rd.
