The calendar is inching closer and closer to tax time, and while we're sure you've got all your financial affairs in order, it never hurts to be a little extra-thrifty this time of year. With that in mind, we've got a handful of affordable food and drink events that will keep your weekly allowance intact while you figure out how to keep sane as you fill out those TurboTax forms.

Starting Monday, brilliant East Village Pintxos spot Huertas will roll out a roster of $12 happy hour features. This includes the "Recession Special"—2 Hot Dogs & A Miller High Life. Or, if you're into nautical nosh, the "Can & Conserva" will get you a can of beer and either Mussels in Escabeche or Mackerel dipped in fresh olive oil.

On Tuesday, a crisp $45 will get you practically limitless drinking of fine local wines at NY Drinks NY, a celebration of Cabernets, Sauvignons, and Malbecs all made within New York. The Grand Tasting event will include offerings from Bellangelo, Brooklyn Oenology, Lieb Cellars, Stoutridge Vineyard, and many more.
