Last week, Magnolia Bakery introduced a new line of ice cream sandwiches, just in time for the heat wave that's hammering us.
Made with ice cream from Ronnybrook Farms, the bakery chain is offering a Red Velvet Whoopie Pie with vanilla ice cream and a Lemon Bar with lemon ice cream (it's dotted with lemon curd), plus vanilla and chocolate ice cream sandwiches with brownies or Blondies. And then there's the Magic Bar: Basically its the Magic Bar you know—graham cracker, shredded coconuts, sweetened condensed milk and nuts—but mixed with ice cream and covered in chocolate.
The summer sandwiches are available at Magnolia Bakery locations in Rockefeller Center, Bloomingdale's, the Upper West Side, and the West Village and will also be sold at Magnolia's newest ice cream cart location at South Street Seaport, which is estimated to open up next week.
The sandwiches range in price from $6 to $6.50 and they are very big, so consider sharing. Also, like pretty much all of Magnolia's offerings, they are definitely for those with sweet tooths, even the Lemon one! You can find them at Magnolia's Upper West Side, Rockefeller Center and South Street Seaport locations.
