Open wide for the forthcoming Nintendo Wii game Major League Eating, which lets players compete as some of the most famous speed eaters in the world, like Takeru Kobayashi, six-time winner of Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest. If the game turns out to be half as fun as this promotional trailer, there’s going to be a lot of virtual binging going down this summer.

How about that “Belch Off,” eh? Good times. Even better is this disclaimer on the MLE website, first spotted by Serious Eats:

Real life speed eating contests approved by Major League Eating and the International Federation of Competitive Eating are held only in a controlled environment with appropriate rules and with an emergency medical technician present. The IFOCE, Major League Eating and Mastiff is against at-home training of any kind. We strongly discourage younger individuals from eating for speed or quantity under any circumstances. We urge all interested parties to become involved in sanctioned events -- do not try speed eating at home.

Choking risks aside, MLE looks like a blast. And if it's a hit, can Major League Stoner be far behind?
