Get ready to loosen your belts, Murray Hill: S'MAC has arrived. The purveyor of delectable mac and cheese officially opened their new location on 33rd between 3rd Avenue and Lexington, eradicating any thoughts of dieting for the foreseeable future.
This third outpost—after the small kiosk opened on First and Houston earlier this year—dishes out the same large selection of mac and cheese creations that made it a hit in the first place. Gorge on Cheeseburger, Mediterranean, Cajun and other flavors, plus vegan substitutions, gluten-free pastas and a Build Your Own option for mac and cheese control freaks.
The new location boasts the same orange lacquered ornamentation as its predecessors, plus large windows looking into the kitchen so you can stalk your meal until it arrives piping hot and bubbly at your table. Also, the lines that plague the East Village spot aren't likely to be duplicated here, as the new space is three times the size of the former. The melty crocks of cheesy carbs are available dine-in or takeout daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and a hangover-preventing 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. No delivery for the time being but watch out working stiffs: they'll be coming to your cubicle sometime soon.
