West Village tavern Chumley's may have finally caught a break in the ongoing slog to reopen following a facade collapse in 2007. A judge has recommended that the bar's NIMBY neighbors, who are suing to keep Chumley's closed, drop their lawsuit, according to the Post. The reason? They'll probably lose the case.

The Bar Free Bedford group, which consists of 47 neighbors, were concerned about the "unruly, drunk and extremely loud" bar patrons they say disturbed the peace of the neighborhood, according to their suit. Justice Barbara Jaffe of Manhattan described the "very high standard" that the plaintiffs would face in proving their case against the SLA's new license for the bar, thus issuing her recommendation.

If/when Chumley's eventually reopens, your first beer's on us, Justice Jaffe.
