Park Slope, barbecue destination? Why not! Not only is Dinosaur BBQ heading to the 'hood, but this week brings the debut of Fort Reno Provisions, a boozy new 'que house on Union Street from the owner of nearby Palo Santo. Brisket by the pound, anyone?

The deal at the 20-seat newcomer is pretty basic. There are sides (meaty baked beans, collard greens, biscuits, mac and cheese) and meat. Lots and lots of meat. What meats are available depend on whatever has been cooked, but expect ribs, brisket, and pulled pork made from local pigs. Sides are two for $7 and meat is sold by the pound (prices still seem to be getting settled from the sound of it). Like at Fette Sau, you order your food at the counter and your drinks at the bar before grabbing a seat (if you can find one).

Oh, did we not mention the drinks yet? They're working on a nice cocktail program to cut the fat with including drinks like the Bobbito Burns (mezcal, averna, bitters) and the Shirley Collins (gin, cherry brandy, bitters, splash of seltzer).

As for the room? It's pretty, small and covered in wood. Nothing groundbreaking here. On the super-plus side though? They are working on getting sidewalk permit which could be great in the warmer months.
