Mike Tyson became a vegan because he'd grown tired of living a life filled with prostitutes. We think? Anyway, that sure seems to be what he told Ann Curry on the Today show this morning while pushing his upcoming Broadway debut. You see, before he gave up eating animals, Tyson was a self-admitted "prostitute hunter" and then he needed a break. Man, this Spike Lee joint on the Great White Way is going to be something!

While the former boxing champ was talking about the genesis of his show, Curry seemed surprised that Tyson had become a vegan and asked "what changed you?" And did he ever have a humdinger of an answer: "I just threw up the white flag," he begins (around 3:45). "Too many prison cells, too many jails, too many lawsuits, too many bankruptcies, too many women, too many venereal diseases, too many everything! I got tired … of every time my prostitute girl got back from a trip I had to sleep with her. I’m going to live a different life."

So he gave up meat entirely. And honestly? Tyson's reasons for giving up all animal proteins are about as logical as the ones most vegans we know use (joking! we love you guys!).

Anyway Tyson's show,Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth hits Broadway's Longavre Theater from July 31 through August 5. You've been warned.
