A bunch of Hells Kitchen residents are reportedly rallying to close down a gay club in their 'hood because of all the hardcore porn they play inside. Apparently Backside to the Future isn't on everyone's Netflix queue.
Fairytail Lounge, which opened on 48th Street in 2011, is apparently known for throwing wild dance parties complete with strippers and pornography movies. And it appears they keep their doors open in the summer, ensuring no one misses out on all the plot twists (SPOILER ALERT: that FedEx uniform is a tearaway).
Unfortunately, neighbors did not see this as an opportunity to catch a little peep action without compromising their Internet search histories—DNAinfo reports that Community Board 4 has been petitioning the State Liquor Authority to reject the FairyTail Lounge's liquor license renewal application. "On the bar are strippers and playing above the bar on a flat-screen TVs are porn videos — all visible from the street," one area resident, Stephen Roylance, wrote in a letter to the SLA. "I have gone into the place several times to speak to the owner, who simply doesn't care." Other things people have complained about: bass vibrations, loud smokers, loiterers on nearby stoops.
We contacted the bar and CB4 for comment, but have yet to hear back; meanwhile, it appears that Fairytail is still kicking for now, though in the future you might have to stick with the World Wide Web for your hardcore porn viewing pleasure.
