Greenpoint coffee shop Budin opened four years ago boasting the most expensive (licorice-flavored) latte in the city at $7. Two weeks later, they raised the price to $10. Now, the establishment has announced its closure, at least for the time being.

A message on Instagram reads, "Due to an ongoing dispute with the landlord we are forced to shut down for awhile. We thank you, our customers and this neighborhood, for all the good times and laughs. We are trying to resolve the issue and find a positive solution as quickly as possible. Keep an eye out for exciting things to come."

According to the NY Post, the space was seized by the city marshals because the shop owed back rent totaling $10,000, or one thousand lattes. But Budin owner Crystal Pei claims the landlord has four months rent in the form of a security deposit, and that the property owner is trying "to squeeze Budin out of the trendy neighborhood."

Don't worry—there's still $18 coffee in Sunset Park.
