New York magazine reports that East Village restaurateurs Jack and Grace Lamb's sweet Blue Goose Cafe will close, to make way for a "casual" version of Jewel Bako, called Jewel Bako Makimono. While a more casual version the delicious sushi restaurant is a good thing, Gothamist will miss the bright and welcoming Blue Goose, where we could duck in for a sweet treat (see our visit to the Blue Goose Cafe) as we wandered in the East Village. There can never be too many places that sell pastries, in our book.

The readers at sushi NYC love Jewel Bako. And the Lambs' other restaurant, Jack's Luxury Oyster Bar, is a great place for some oysters and drinks or for a decadent tasting menu.
