The lovely Vancouver hot dog shop Japadog opened its first U.S. doors on St. Mark's nearly a year ago, but still not everyone has gone and enjoyed their distinctly Japanese-style hot dogs. So they're giving 'em out for free today. For a few hours at least!

As The Local East Village notes, yesterday Japadog set up a food stand in front of the Best Buy at Union Square and, from 10 a.m. to noon, gave out free beef and veggie dogs topped with cherry mayo. Then from noon until 6 p.m. they charged $3 bucks for 'em. And guess what? Today they are planning to do the same thing. So if you are in the area and up for a free, early lunch you might want to walk over?
