In a twist from the usual food truck giveaway offerings, which are normally ready-to-eat snacks like hotdogs or, uh, body chocolate, Barilla pasta trucks will be hitting the streets this week to give out "Spaghettata To-Go" dinner kits for you to take home and prepare yourself.

Each kit will include a box of Barilla spaghetti, fresh greens, a jar of sauce, olive oil and vinegar, and tickets to Casa Barilla, an Italian food fest in Central Park next month. For each of the 20,000 kits the truck gives away, Barilla will donate $1 to the Food Bank For New York City, which will in turn help provide 100,000 meals to New Yorkers in need.

The truck will be parked at Union Square today from 4-8 p.m., with stops in Midtown and Columbus Circle later this week (a full schedule is available here).
