Saturday morning is Day One of the 2016 Long Island City Flea & Food, and you'd do well to get there early. (It starts at 11 a.m.) Situated at 5-25 46th Avenue, the market will include prime cuts from Butcher Bar, savory bowls from RaMein delicious sweets from A Lil' Bit of Fun, and so much more. Reasonable prices, great vintage vendors, and riverside views that just can't be beat, this is the less-crowded alternative to Brooklyn's ubiquitous weekend flea markets.

92Y is celebrating chocolate this weekend, and it's not just an event—it's an exhibition. Chocolate Fest 2016 will feature decadent sweets from Red Hook's Raaka Chocolate, Nolita's own Stick with Me, and old favorites Chocolat Moderne will bring chocolates of mind-boggling detail and palate-rocking taste to the storied uptown venue. As if that's not decadent enough, there are cheese pairings planned. Gotham Wines and Liquors will be matching special wines to chocolates from Guittard, and because after all that sugar what you're going to need some dessert, there'll also be ice cream scoops courtesy of Penny Lick. Finally, food journalist Simran Sethi will be discussing the global food system, slow food, and how to preserve certain cocoa beans for future generations.
Find serenity in a superlative sandwich at the first-ever Hall of Heroes, a competition to determine who's doing it best between two slices of bread. All afternoon at the Bowery Hotel's beautiful Terrace there'll be melts, cubans, seafood rolls, and even PB&Js waiting, just for you. Of course, beer and cocktails will be served, because nothing goes with America's signature dish like a healthy weekend buzz.
