If you live or work in DUMBO you know—the area may be beautiful, sure, but it lacks in a few basic things. Like anything close to culinary diversity. It is the kind place where people eagerly and desperately await a grilled cheese truck's weekly visit. But this summer that is about to change—slightly. The DUMBO Improvement District is teaming up with Brooklyn Flea to offer "Flea Food Under The Archway" every Thursday and Friday. And they are starting this week!
This could be very exciting, you guys. According to the release:
All summer long you’ll enjoy noshing on Asia Dog (Mel and Steve!), Brooklyn Oyster Party (po’ boys and raw bar!), Landhaus (pork meatballs, brats!), and Mile End (smoked meat!),and a little something from DUMBO restauranteurs too. This Thursday, Brooklyn Roasting Company starts us off right with cool drinks and sweet treats.
And it gets better. Grub Street notes that booze should be coming soon, too. Liquid lunches!
Here's hoping it is a success—and maybe it'll get a few other food options to join the fray as the weeks go on. The area really could use them.
