Fall is in the air, bringing with it a handful of new restaurant openings. Both the Daily News and New York Magazine have released their Fall preview lists to get us ready for the season. Gothamist has whittled down the lists to create our own short list of places we'd like to hit first:

  • Lure Fishbar, 142 Mercer Street, opening mid-September. We're always up for seafood, so we're eager to take a peek at this Soho spot, designed to look like the interior of a boat.
  • Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, 646 West 131st Street, opening late October. As you well know, Gothamist has a bit of a barbecue issue. Our friends upstate in Rochester and Syracuse have been touting Dinosaur as one of the best, so we're certainly happy to welcome them to town.
  • Bottega del Vino, 7 East 59th Street; opening late October. Any wine bar offering 35,000 bottles sounds like a place we need to visit more than once.
  • R.U.B. (Righteous Urban Barbecue), 208 West 23rd Street; opening early November. We've been hearing about this one since the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party. In addition to barbecue standards like ribs, chicken, pulled pork and bristed, the menu will be offering some quirky twists like Sichuan smoked duck, and slow-cooked pastrami. Rumor has it that deep-fried ribs will be making an appearance as well.
  • Rickshaw Dumpling Bar, 61 West 23rd Street; early November. Gothamist loves dumplings. Say no more -- we're there.
