Late-night East Village taco shack Snack Dragon is (nearly) no more.

The owner tells us that the popular decade-old spot will shutter at the end of the month; the rent on their 100 square-foot shop has tripled to $3,900, and they're getting pushed out.

Snack Dragon now joins the ten squillion other eateries in the city that have been pushed out thanks to rising rents this year. It also looks like the LES storefront isn't long for this world, if it's still open at all; Bowery Boogie noted in April that the Orchard Street spot was up for rent, and Yelp says it's closed. [UPDATE: the owner tells us it's still open!]

Luckily, Snack Dragon's Williamsburg outpost will continue to operate, though East Village denizens will have to make do with the fro-yo juice bar ATM that will inevitably move into the East 3rd Street space.
