Eggslut chef Alvin Cailan continues his tenure at Chefs Club Counter with a new menu of "health-inspired" dishes from his forthcoming Paper Planes concept, which will debut in brick-and-mortar form sometime soon in NYC. Beginning Tuesday, the Nolita restaurant will serve dishes include Cold Noodle Salad; Ambrosia Bowls filled with fruit, coconut, chia seeds and nuts; and a seasonal toast with veggies and ricotta cheese.

Chef Dale Talde begins his residency at the Seaport District NYC's Food Lab—the visiting chef series that previously hosted Jessica Koslow of L.A.'s Sqirl—this week through September 23rd. The chef will be on his own this week, preparing a three-course meal that includes dishes like coconut bread and chicken liver mousse, Thai fried chicken with peaches and fried dirty rice, and dulce de leche. After Thursday, he'll be joined by first Michael Toscano and then Beau Schooler, who'll be collaborating with Talde on different menus from September 15 - 19 and September 20 - 23, respectively. Tickets cost $200 for a table for two.

Fish Cheeks in NoHo celebrates one year with free oysters and cake if you stop by on September 12th. Those who purchase a drink anytime on Tuesday will be treated to a complimentary round of oysters and those who stick around for dinner get a slice of coconut cream birthday cake to toast the restaurant's success.

Enjoy a boozy Thursday night at the Craft Spirits Celebration at Houston Hall in the West Village. For its 5th year in NYC, the event taps over 30 brands to pour over 100 expressions—industry term for a brand's different varieties—from producers including WhistlePig, Ilegal Mezcal, Glenlivet, Don Papa, Woodford Reserve and more. Two for one tickets are currently available for $50, otherwise GA is $100.

Eat your way around Union Square restaurants at the annual Harvest in the Square event taking place on Thursday. Put on by Union Square Partnership, the fundraising event for beautifying the area and funding free community activities brings together restaurants from around the Union Square area for a walk-around tasting and drinking event. Unlimited tastings will be available from Barbounia, Blue Water Grill, Breads Bakery, Javelina, L'Express, Rosa Mexicano, Union Square Cafe and dozens of other restaurants; wineries, breweries, cocktail bars and coffee roasters are also participating. Tickets $125 GA, $400 VIP.

Charlie Palmer Steak New York in Midtown debuted a new happy hour with complimentary popcorn to which guests can add a rotating flavor shaker if they so desire. Other specials include $5 beers, $7.50 glasses of wine, $7 cocktails and half of all snacks Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
