New York's top chefs and a few other entertainers are ringing in the New Year by out-cooking Sandy damage at a benefit next month. Dubbed "Shame on Sandy," the event, hosted by foodie site My Last Supper, will be held Saturday, January 12th at the Highline Stages at W. 15th Street.
Attendees can sample bites from local culinary heavyweights like Mario Batali, Le Bernadin's Eric Ripert and Michael White of Osteria Morini in SoHo, plus drinks courtesy of companies like Southern Wine and Spirits. And the night's not just all about food: celebrities like Susan Sarandon, Abigail Breslin, comedienne Lady Rizo and Patrick Stewart will be on hand putting on a variety show for guests. The event costs $150 per person (you can purchase tickets here) and all proceeds will go directly to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City to help families and households who suffered during Hurricane Sandy.
January 12th, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Highline Stages, Studio D, 440 West 15th St
