Sweets haven ChikaLicious brought the dessert bar concept to the East Village over a decade ago and now they are expanding their operations to the other side of Manhattan with a brand new tasting bar and to-go operation in the West Village. This Saturday, the team opens up their new outpost on Bedford Street, which merges the two EV locations into one-stop-shopping for exceptional desserts, both composed on the plate and ready to take home.
Like its predecessors, The Dessert Club offers a 12-seat tasting counter with a changing menu of dessert options that can be ordered a la carte or as part of 3-Dessert Tasting menu. A few items making their debut on the opening menu: White Chocolate Mousse on Kiwi Marinated in Lavender with Poppy Seed Puff and Steamed Pudding Cake with Warm Vanilla Anglaise and Shredded Apple. Items can be procured for $12 each, including one non-alcoholic drink, or on the $32 tasting menu.
In the post-Cronut age, no place can resist making its own version; here, they'll offer Dough'ssants in flavors like Meyer Lemon, Nutella, Creme Brulee and Dutch Apple. The cookie eclairs also make the trek across town, plus sundaes and custards like Strawberry Shortcake and Banana Custard Pie.
