There are many reasons to travel to the Queens Botanical GardenBee Garden!—but that's especially true next Saturday, July 19th, when the gardens will be flush with not only gorgeous flowers, grasses and other flora but also with beer. The Garden is throwing an inaugural Brew Fest on its grounds to celebrate the 50th and 75th anniversaries of the World's Fairs, which took place not far from the blooms in Flushing.

Breweries on tap for the event include local folks like Sixpoint, Blue Point and Brooklyn Brewery as well as international entries like Ayinger, Singha and Williams Bros. Brewing Co. There'll be cider as well, courtesy of Doc's Draft, and fun alcoholic ginger beer from Crabbie's. Overall there will be more than 50 craft beers from 20 breweries plus food vendors including La Bella Torte (Italian baked goods), V-Spot (Latin vegan food), La Crepe C'est Si Bon and TaiPan Express.

The Garden has set up two sessions, the first from noon until 3 p.m. and the second from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; tickets are available for both sessions for $45 in advance or $50 day of. Tickets include access not only to all the delicious beer, but also access to the many gardens and quiet nooks that make up the venue.
