The day has finally arrived and Doughnut Plant has landed in Brooklyn! The first of the chainlet's outer borough shops opened today at 245 Flatbush Avenue at Bergen Street and they're already sold out of Tres Leches. Get there earlier tomorrow, Brooklyn!

Besides renaming their popular blackout donut the "Brooklyn Blackout," things are pretty much the same as their other Manhattan locations. Special holiday doughnuts are currently on offer, however, like a Marzipan version available in yeast, cake or doughseed and three new cake flavors: Ginger Bread, Triple Chocolate Mint and Pannettone.

Operations Manager K.C. Saluzar told us there were "no immediate plans to open another Brooklyn store, because this one was expensive," but revealed that borough expansion would eventually happen. He also said it was "still too early" to discuss the Long Island City outpost, which will include both a retail operation and a much larger production facility. This better mean no more selling out of our favorite flavors.
