From candy bars to prom corsages, if Americans can deep fry it, we will. Which is why we're delighted that Amy from Oh Bite It has found a way to deep fry champagne. Your resolutions don't technically start until you wake up on New Year's Day, right? How about one more indulgence for the road...
The recipe, dubbed the Deep Fried Champagne Toast, involves soaking hunks of sponge cake in champagne then transferring them to hot oil until they're nice and browned. Once they're out of the fryer, they're topped with powdered sugar and sprinkles, as they should be.
Creating the toast is really simple provided you're not already hammered—beware the hot oil! And remember kids: laying a base before a night of imbibing is Drinking 101.
