TriBeCa fans of fried chicken still mourning the loss of Popeye's, we have good news! Dirty Bird to-go, the 14th Street institution beloved by South Park's Matt Stone ("It isn't just my favorite restaurant in the city," he has said, "it is my favorite restaurant in the whole world,") is coming to Chambers Street. And it is opening soon.

As the TriBeCa Citizen notes, the DB team is currently hard at work setting up shop in the narrow 155 Chambers storefront. The newcomer will again have subway tiled walls, side-by-side seating, an open kitchen and yeah, lots of all-natural chicken. When we called up the original Dirty Bird we were told the restaurant hopes to open in September—just in time to feed throngs of Stuyvesant students from down the block.
