It's a tough week to be a Williamsburg venue with the initials DBA. New Orleans beer bar transplant d.b.a will shutter its Brooklyn outpost at the end of the month, it announced on Facebook. There was no explanation offered for why the venue would close; a call to the bar this morning went unanswered.

The bar had a five year run on North 7th Street, catering to Saints fans during the football season and cask beer lovers all the time. Fittingly, their last day on Sunday will include the Saints-Steelers game at 1 p.m. followed by a farewell party and "drink the inventory" celebration. They'll also be open on Thanksgiving.

The bars stayed open after owner Ray Deter died while bicycling in Manhattan in 2011 and it appears the East Village location will stay that way. The bar says it'll keep the d.b.a. Brooklyn Facebook page active in case a new location become available.
