Bibs and wet wipes at the ready because it's gonna get messy at Sycamore's 5th Annual Crawfish Boil! The flower shop/bar is partnering with Abita Brewing Company for a Louisiana-style boil, complete with a big 'ole bucket of crawfish and a pint of Abita beer to wash it down. Never experienced mugbugs before? Allow this helpful video to show you the way. The finger licking fun unfolds on Saturday, May 31st with seatings at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Grab your $25 ticket before they sell out.

053014lobster.jpgIf tiny little crawfish make you uneasy (they shouldn't), you can opt for their larger crustacean cousins at Hotel Chantelle's Sunday Rooftop Lobster Bakes, called "Maine Squeeze." Every Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. a $29.92 ticket buys you one whole lobster, steamed littleneck clams, baked red russet potatoes and corn on the cob. While you're noshing, relax to some reggae by DJ Sir Kemol Taylor, as it should be. If you want, pitchers of specialty cocktails are also available for $35, serving between four and six people.

If seafood isn't your thing and you're one of the many ditching wheat protein, you'd do well to hit up the Gluten-Free EatUP! this Sunday at Freddy's Bar and Back Room in South Slope. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. snack on gluten-free grilled cheese, pie, Italian sauces and pastas, cookies and all sorts of other goodies. There's also gluten-free beer on tap plus cider and the like; there will also be products to take home for future DIY meals.
